Ken Klavon

An award-winning journalist, Ken Klavon has served as the U.S. Golf Association's Editor of New Media since 2001 when the Association
created the position. A 1994 graduate of Michigan State University, Ken started his career as a print reporter in newspapers before spending 3 1/2 years
at "The Detroit News" covering the Detroit Red Wings and serving as the paper's Online Sports Editor. In 1999 he was a recipient of the
Gannett Excellence Award for coverage of the Red Wings. He joined "Sports Illustrated" in 1999, where he covered the NHL, Major League Baseball,
Motorsports and Golf for the magazine and its online component. Weeks before the 2001 U.S. Open, Ken dreamed that Retief Goosen would
improbably win. Upon relaying the story to Goosen and his wife afterward, they both asked what it would take to dream about winning more majors.
